Little bit of Humor.

Thank you to Sara for sharing this little tidbit!

WISHES

A bus carrying only ugly people crashes into an
oncoming truck, and everyone inside dies.

They then get to meet their maker and because of the
grief they have experienced, he decides to grant them
one wish each before they enter Paradise.

They're all lined up and God asks the first one what
he wishes.

"I want to be gorgeous," and so God snaps His fingers
and it is done.

The second one in line hears this and says, "I want to
be gorgeous too."

Another snap of His fingers and the wish is granted.

This goes on for a while with each one asking to be
gorgeous but when God is halfway down the line, the
last guy in the line starts laughing.

When there are only ten people left, this guy is
rolling on the floor laughing his head off.

Finally, God reaches this last guy and asks him what
his wish will be.

The guy eventually calms down and says: "Make 'em all
ugly again".

I'd rather have a dancing gopher!

There used to be a Gopher doll that danced to "I'm Alright". It was the gopher from Caddy Shack and it was too cute! This doll wouldn't be good for much other than target practice!

Yahoo! News - Hip-Swaying Dancing Doll Ridicules Saddam: "Hip-Swaying Dancing Doll Ridicules Saddam

Wed Jun 30,10:34 AM ETAdd Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!

By Luke Baker
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqis used to dance to his tune, but in Baghdad toy shops a chubby, gun-toting Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) doll now wiggles his hips to the 'Hippy Hippy Shake.'

Toy stores around Baghdad are doing a quick trade in dancing Saddam dolls -- foot-high battery-powered puppets of the former president, kitted out in full insurgent regalia, who swing their hips to cheesy pop music at the flick of a switch.
Decked out with hand-grenades, daggers, a walkie-talkie, binoculars and an AK-47, Saddam dances to the 'Hippy Hippy Shake' when turned on.

'It's funny, isn't it?' said Mustapha al-Kadamy, a young father as he browsed through a toy store in the wealthy Mansoor district and prepared to buy one of the dancing Saddams.
'Tomorrow Saddam will go before an Iraqi judge and so today is a good day to make fun of him -- we need to be able to smile after all the horrible things he's done to us.'

The owner of the store started offering the dolls shortly after Saddam's regime was overthrown in April last year. A Turkish traveling salesmen turned up with the Chinese-made puppets, also featuring dancing Osama bin Ladens, Fidel Castros and George W. Bushes, and he placed an order.

At first it was the hip-shaking Osamas that sold best, but slowly Iraqis grew less fearful of ridiculing their deposed president and started buying the Saddam ones too.

"At the beginning we'd hide them under the counter and only sell them to those who specially asked because people were upset to see the former president as a doll," explained Asaad Majid, a salesman in the al-Jelawi toy store in Mansoor.

"Now we're not scared anymore, we display them openly, and people buy them regularly," he said, adding that demand peaked soon after Saddam was captured last December.

Thursday, the real Saddam and 11 of his associates will go before an Iraqi judge to be charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity. Saddam's trial is not expected to begin until early next year.

There was little doubt about Saddam's guilt in the minds of customers and sales staff Wednesday.

"If he's executed, then that's the end of it -- it's too easy for him," said Ala, a sales assistant at Jelawi's.

"It would be better to keep him in prison for the rest of his life so that he has to suffer every day."

Sue-B

My friend Sue came down from Corsicana this weekend to hang out with me. We did karaoke at the Dove then breakfast at the Truck Stop and finally headed back to my house at a little after 4AM. Sunday, we both slept until noon then got up and went to Pancho's for lunch and then did a little shopping. My only regret is that we took Sue's car to Pancho's, so I couldn't fill my trunk up with Sopaipillas! I did find a really cute pair of sandals at Payless for $4! I love cheap shoes.

Right before Sue left to go home, she showed me where she had been bitten by a spider a few days before. There was already a hole in the middle of a black and red ugly sore. I've never been bitten by one, but I'm well aware of the symptoms of a Brown Recluse bite. I told to get to an emergency room as soon as see got back home. When she got home, she had her mom check the bite. She too believed it to be a Brown Recluse bite. A trip to the hospital confirmed what Sue's mom and I already knew. They hospital cleaned out the bite and gave her a shot of antibiotics as well as a prescription (10 days worth). I called to check on her today and she says the bite is already feeling a lot less painful. She's lucky she didn't it go any longer. Those bites and get pretty nasty.

I did some surfing today to refamilarize myself with Brown Recluses. You can't be too careful.

Running later than usual today. I guess I stayed up too late writing that letter. It's going to be a long day and an even longer night! It'll take a brass band to get me out of bed in the morning! Think I'll get a couple of people to call in the AM to make sure I get out the door on time tomorrow.

Right now I'm listening to "Into the Fire" by Sara McLachlan on RealRhapsody. Right now I only have a trial membership but I think I may pay the $10 a month and keep it for awhile. I've found so many great songs that I haven't heard in years! I want to at least burn off a couple of CD's before I give it up. AAHHHHH Radio Song by R.E.M. . Hey, hey. hey. Everything to show and everything to hide.

Weekend Recap 06/19 & 06/20

Wow, what a weekend! I went out Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for Sara's birthday. Friday night I got to sing back-up with a band at the American Legion! Too cool. I've always wanted to try singing with a band. They wanted me to sing Give Me One Reason by Tracy Chapman (one of the guys heard singing along with the jukebox) but I was too nervous for that so I compromised and sang back-up on Drift Away by Dobie Gray. It was a lot of fun and I promised that I'd be ready to sing when they come back next month. I sing karaoke all the time but it was very different with a live band. The lead singer was kinda ad-libbing the whole time because he couldn't remember the words and the rest of us were just chiming in on the chorus.

Saturday night was the main event for Sara's B-Day. We all assembled at the Dove for some serious party-ing. The highlight of the evening was the stripping cowboy that had been arranged by one of her other friends! Yee-Haw! It's a good thing I wasn't drinking much (I was the designated driver tis trip) that poor fella might not have made it out alive! My only qualm with him, was that he had better hair than I do. Mine is a little longer, but his had some nice waves. I hate it when guys have better hair! Anyway, Sunday was spent hanging out at my sister's house for a Father's Day dinner. It's always cool hanging out with the family and getting to spend time with my boys.

Whew...this was next on my list of excuses!

Yahoo! News - Blow Drying Excuse Fails to Save Speeding Driver: "Blow Drying Excuse Fails to Save Speeding Driver

Wed Jun 16, 7:18 AM ETAdd Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - A New Zealand man caught driving at more than twice the legal speed limit claimed he needed to step on the gas in order to blow dry his car.

Roger Daniel, 37, made the novel excuse after he was nabbed traveling at more than 75 mph in a 30 mph zone in the northern town of Whangarei, the Dominion Post newspaper reported on Wednesday.
'I have a bad back and just thought I would do that to dry the car instead of having to chamois it dry,' he told police.
The explanation failed to impress and Daniel was fined $191 and had his license suspended for six months. "

Guess I'll have to skip this one and go on to "I was trying to dry my hair!"

Show Time!

Last nights show went very well. I'm starting to build up a regular crowd. I had about ten singers at the top of the night, most of which came in right around 9PM. All of the people that sang had come in just for karaoke, meaning that they didn't just happen to be there. I was in a pretty good mood and ended up having a lot of fun.

When I first got to the club the only people there were the bartender and the manager. The plan was to start at 8 o'clock, but it just didn't happen. I killed time by reading my book while sitting up at the bar. I was dreading have to do a show with no singers! I know enough songs to sing for 4 hours, but it's not much fun singing to yourself in an empty club. Robert (my closet karaoke singer),showed up around 8:30. We chatted for awhile then, lo and behold, at 9:00, people started filing in! For the rest of the night, I was in such a good mood, that Shay thought I was drunk! I was just happy to have some singers rather than having to do the "Angela show" all night!

Kitty Corner

Well the kittens are settling in nicely. They're having a ball attacking my hair in the middle of the night. At least once a night, I wake up to little kitty cat claws digging into my back as a kitten fights with my ponytail. FUN.

I decided to change their names from Shadow and Shade to Stratus and Nimbus. They seem to like their new names. Nimbus will even meow back at me every time I call him by name. Stratus doesn't "talk" all that much, he just kinda sits and watches from a safe distance but he will turn and look at me if I call his name. So far so good. They haven't broken anything yet, although they did knock my clock radio and my cellphone off of the night stand so that they could nap.

I guess I had best start cat-proofing my apartment BEFORE they do any serious damage!

The Grand Tour

I finally went down to Tracy's shop yesterday for the tour he promised. It was actually pretty cool seeing all of the machinery used to repair collisions. The highlight of the tour was the custom Jaguar that they're working on. SWEET! Black Pearl and a Corvette engine, it was a struggle not to drool all over it! I'm going to try and go by again later this week to see what kind of progress has been made.

For those of you that are audio challenged...

I recently found out that Big Daddy is about to be a Daddy again. It seems that his ex-girlfriend and mother of his 3 yr old daughter is pregnant with his second child. From talking to him, I was under the belief that his relationship with her had ended quite some time ago. Wrong. Apparently it wasrecent enough for her to be expecting! Anyway, considering my past experience with ex's that aren't quite ex's yet, and all of the back and forth BS that goes along with those situations, I decided that Big Daddy would be best left alone.

I just can't see setting myself up for another fall. I'm just glad that this came to light before I got hooked on him. At least I'm spared the heart break time time around.

My how things have changed!

When I worked at Taco Hell, the worst thing we had to worry about armed robbery! Jeez, what is this world coming to?

Yahoo! News - Man Charged With Chalupa Assault: "Man Charged With Chalupa Assault

Tue Jun 8, 7:27 AM ETAdd Strange News - AP to My Yahoo!

Perhaps instead of throwing the book at him, they should throw a Mexican Pizza!

DES MOINES, Iowa - A man who claimed he didn't get the taco he paid for has been charged with assault for allegedly pelting a Taco Bell clerk in the face with a chalupa.

Nancy Harrison told police she was working the drive-through Thursday night when Christopher Lame, 24, ordered some food.
He later came into the store, complaining he didn't get the taco he had ordered, police records say. Harrison said that when she asked for a receipt, he went back to his car and brought back the bag.
Harrison said she told him the store was closing, and as she turned away, a chalupa hit her in the face near her right eye. She said she ran into the parking lot and took down the license number as the motorist was driving away.
Lame was identified through the license number.
He is scheduled to appear in court June 15. "

One Two Kitties

Tomorrow I'm going to stop by Mom's on my way home and pick up my kittens. They're eating regular food now and are ready to be relocated! I've already bought them food and litter nad I still have lots of kitty toys left from Tang (aka the cat from hell). Both of my new roomies are dark gray but one has a couple of small white spots on his belly and chest. The one with the white patches is named Shade or Shadey cat when he's up to no good, which is most of the time. The darker one is named Shadow and so far he seems to be the more docile of the two. Hopefully, neither of them will be as vicious as Tang. Even with a pretty good tan, I can still see faint scars from where Tang used to chew me up! As mean as he was, I still miss my Tangy Kitty.

Just FYI...When my oldest nephew was learning to count, if he wanted more than one cookie or toy or whatever, he would ask for one two whatever. For example: Can I have one two cookies? It's just one of those little memories that stuck with me. Now I'm going to have one two kitties!

Dying for a change.

While I was at Kelly's place on Saturday, I helped her put highlights in her hair. When we finished her's, we dyed mine. The color was supposed to be a dark brown similar to my natural shade. What we ended up with was nearly BLACK! Rinsing the dye out of my made me think of grape cool-aid! It's funny of that all the times that I've colored my hair, this one time would merit the greatest reaction. Nearly everyone I've seen over the weekend has comented on my darker the normal hair. I hoping that after a couple of more shampooings, the color will fade some and be closer to my own. I've already noticed that some of the gray is showing through again. That really sucks because the only reason I colored it in the first place was to cover my gray. Sometimes I just can't win for losing!

Night Out

The night out with Jason and the people from the truck stop was fun, but not all that I hoped it would be. I didn't get the attention from Jason that I was looking for. I was bothered by this at first but I soon realized that he wasn't talking to hardly anyone. It was pretty obvious that he didn't care for the bar scene. Toward the end of the night after most of the group had gone home, he was a bit more relaxed and talkative.

I called him a couple of times on Sunday. Once to fill him in on what he missed when those of us remaining went to the truck stop for breakfast and a second time to invite him to meet me for coffee. He was on his way to Oklahoma and wouldn't be back until 3 or 4 AM, so he wasn't able to meet me. However, he did promise to meet me Tueday night after he gets off work. It's a step in the right direction. I think the best plan is to take my time and let things unfold at their own pace. (Okay maybe just a little nudge now and then to keep things interesteing).

Happily tired.

Today I am terribly, wonderfully tired from being at the truck stop until just after 5 this morning. The reason of being, so that I could see Jason for a little while. At first he was kind of cool towards me. He didn't seem to have much to say to me. After eating his breakfast, he picked up his check and announced that he was leaving. I was crushed. I had been there since 11:30 waiting for him to come in, even knowing that it wouldn't be until close to 4:00 AM.

Sitting at the counter, I was telling Sandy, the waitress, and Sara, the cook, how disappointed I was that he didn't stay longer. As I sulked over my coffee, I was shocked to see Jason walking back into the restaurant. He stayed and talked for another hour and this time he was MUCH more talkative. I got the feeling that he had overheard my laments. Not only was talking more, he asked me do some research for him then gave me his phone number so that I could call him today with the information. As if it couldn't wait until the next time I saw him? ;) Not only did we end up trading phone numbers, I also got invited to come hang out at a club Saturday night. Jason and a few of the people that work at he truck stop are all going to a club in Denison. Needless to say, I'm on cloud nine right now! It's going to be a great weekend!

BTW...The blonde bimbo had to leave town for a funeral. She's going to be gone for a week. At the rate things are going right now, by the time she gets back, she won't stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting between me and Jason.

Big Daddy

I've been way tired and a little perturb both in connection with my recent dealing with Jason. The way tired part comes from spending hours at the T-stop talking until dangerously close to dawn. The perturbed part come from the blonde headed bimbo that thinks she can beat my time. It's very obvious that this idiot child only sees Jason as a meal ticket instead of the great guy that he really is. She actually had the nerve to come up and tell me that Jason had said I was too classy for him. Uh whatever...the last time I checked, there was no such thing as too classy.

After checking with a more experienced source (my sis), I found that this is a common ploy used by stupid, low-class women when they realize that the guy they're after has interests elsewhere. The same ploy was used on my sister years ago when she started dating a guy that worked at that same t-stop. She ignored the woman and kept right on dating the guy. That guy, that supposedly wasn't interested in her, is now my brother-in-law of 9 yrs. I knew Steph would know what to do. She's ALWAYS been better at dealing with this kind of stuff.

Tonight, after the show at Lonesome Dove, I'm heading up to the truck stop to see Jason. I don't think the blonde bimbo knew that Jason had already asked if I would like for him to teach my to play golf. I also don't believe she knows about the trip to Shreveport he and I have been planning or the boat race he's promised to take me on. All of this from a man that thinks I'm too classy for him, I think not.

Tripping trip.

It was a really great weekend! I got to hang out with my friend Kelly for the first time in months. We shopped a little while (there were a few things I needed to get before leaving town Saturday morning) then went to Starbucks and kicked back over coffee and desserts. Then it was off to Nickle Mania for some nostalgic arcade action...DAMN I love Frogger! After the arcade Kelly introduced my to a place called WING STOP. Garlic Parmesan wings ROCK! We didn't get back to Kelly's until after 1AM. It was just like to good ole days for careers, kids and significant others!

As I was heading home, I decided to stop by the truck stop and try to see Jason once more before leaving town. I got to the Truck Stop about 2AM and ended up not leaving until 6AM! I like Jason a little more every time I talk to him. He even dropped off my car payment for me on his way home to save me some time! That really impressed me. When he first offered, I was kind of shocked and just stood there for a moment before I said yes. I guess all these years of lousy boyfriends have caused me to forget what nice guys are like. What a nice reminder that there are still a few good ones left!

Due to my late night conversation with Jason, I got a later start than I intended. We had already decided that it would be better for me to come down Saturday instead of Friday night, but I didn't head out until 1PM Saturday. All was well though. It was an easy drive (less than 2 hours) and I really enjoyed it. When I got to Sue's we hit the pool and splashed around for a couple of hours before heading indoors to gussy up for our night out. Sue wanted us to go to one of the clubs she used to frequent, called the Mustang. As we arrived they checked our ID'S and marked the backs of our hands to show we were "of age". I was joking around with the guy at the door about wanting to be marked with a different color (orange is NOT my best color), when my cellphone started ringing. By the time I dug it out of my purse, it had already gone into voice mail. I was more than a little surprised to see Michael's number on the missed call log. I called him back and had a bit of vindictive fun letting him know that I was visiting a "friend" in Corsicana (only 45 minutes from where he's living). He wasn't too happy with the fact that I was so close by for a whole weekend and didn't let him know or even attempt to come see him. Hey what can I say, I didn't lie or even tell a half-truth. Sue IS one of my best friends and even knows her! It not my fault he has a huge jealous streak and tends to jump to conclusions.

Anyway, Sue and I had a great time getting BLITZED! Drinking profusely is not something I get to do very often so when I do....YEE-HAW. It was probably a good thing that it was slow at the club and the eligible men were slim pickings indeed. It's a lot easier to stay out of trouble when there isn't anyone around to get into trouble with. It was a near miss with one tall cowboy that I made a remark about as he passed by. Appartently, he overheard me (I forget how my karaoke trained voice tends to carry) and decided to come over.

Cowboy (smiling) "Did you call me?"

Me (NOT smiling) "UH, no."

Cowboy (now looking kinda puzzled) "I thought I heard you say my name. Are you sure you didn't call me?"

ME (still not smiling and starting to get irritated too) "Uh, yes, I very sure I didn't call you...I don't even know your name."

Cowboy (now looking somewhat deflated) "Oh, okay, sorry." and walks off.

Now I admit that I was looking. The point is I had no intention of touching. If I had wanted to talk to him, I would have sent Sue over as a scout or had about three more kamikazes and gone over myself (it's a well known fact that I'm a coward when it comes to meeting men). Besides, between Michael, Nacho (better known here as Stalker #1) and Jason, I already have more male attention than I can handle. The last thing I need is another guy to make things even more complicated. Although after more than my fair share of alcohol, I did call Michael back to antagonize him one more time. Basically, all I did was blow off every bullshit line he threw all me and shot down every excuse he tried to use. He's played me for a long time but he found out this weekend that he can't play me anymore. I think it'll be a long, LONG time before I hear from him again. I'm pretty proud of myself for finally seeing through all the crap and putting him in his place. One down, one to go.

The rest of the weekend was fairly laid back. A little more time in the pool, going out to eat, shopping and a few movies (saw Sheck 2 and watched a couple of videos as Sue's). I left around 10Am Monday morning and was home (at least back in Howe) by 11:30. I stopped my sister's place and Mom's when I got back. Traveling is great but it's good to come back home! Monday afternoon I went to the Bitches Convention at Lonesome Dove (where we do karaoke 3 nights a week) and hung out a little while then headed over to Margo's to visit and tell her about my weekend. I left Margo's at 11PM and went to the truck stop for some coffee before calling it a day. Much to my surprise, Jason was there. He normally doesn't come it until about 3AM. He and I talked until 2, but finally had to leave because we both had to be up early the next morning. I plan on stopping by the T-Stop after my show tonight. Hopefully, I run into Jason again.
